Nairobi – Two ministers have been reinstated more than a month after the President William Ruto dismissed his entire Cabinet.
Former Minister of Technology Eliud Owalo was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations and Delivery Management.
Owalo's responsibilities will include implementing, monitoring, and evaluating government projects and programs prioritized in accordance with the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Program (BETA).
He will also oversee the performance of Ministries, Departments and Government Agencies (MDAs) in service delivery.
Former Public Service Commissioner Moses Kuria he was reinstated to serve as a senior adviser in the president's Council of Economic Advisers.
The social network's leading activist of Kenya FirstDennis Itumbi, was appointed head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President.
The President said that the appointment will help a lot in implementing the goals of the government.
“This will strengthen the implementation of the BETA Program by the broad-based government, the Head of State and the Government,” read part of the statement of the Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.
When did Ruto abolish his Cabinet?
Ruto announced the repatriation of all Cabinet members on Thursday, July 11.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who also serves as Minister of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, was spared removal.
The President based his decision on the assessment of his Cabinet and the public Kenya.
Earlier, Ruto said the changes would complete the steps he had been taking since he accepted public pressure to carry out a complete overhaul of the government.
This was after peaceful Kenyan youth took to the streets to protest Ruto's style of leadership.
A new Cabinet was formed, with six positions handed over to the opposition.
Ruto said he brought players from the opposition into the Executive to work together to correct the mistakes of his administration.
