Migaa Accident: Woman Recounts Last Conversation with Her Husband on the Phone Before Dying

The bus that was going Mombasa met with an accident in Migaa on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, killing 14 people and leaving over 50 injured on Tuesday, August 20.

Lilian Achieng', who lost her husband, Peter Onyango, in the accident, has painfully described the details of their last conversation before the tragic incident.

What did Onyango tell his wife?

Achieng', who had visited Molo Hospital to identify her husband's body, explained that he worked as a mechanic at the Coastal Bus Company.

While trying to contain his pain, Achieng' said Onyango called him to inform him that the bus they were on had problems there Kerichoand he was trying to fix it.

“He told me the bus had experienced technical problems and he was waiting for spare parts to come out Poisonous,” Achieng said.

Onyango asked if Achieng' had received the package he sent earlier. He added that before hanging up, Onyango told him to take good care of their children.

“He told me to take care of myself and our children,” he said.

Other women who had also lost their relatives in the accident blamed the Coast Bus Company for transporting passengers using a bus that had technical problems.

“They must stop using old cars and then give bribes to the traffic police so that they can pass. By doing so they contributed to the loss of lives,” one woman said.

Survivors of the Migaa accident claim the police ignored them

Recently, the survivors of the Migaa accident accused the police of being involved in the tragedy.

Survivors have revealed that the wrecked bus had technical problems that were often ignored.
