Nakuru – The death toll following a horrific accident on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway has risen to 13.
Which bus was involved in the Migaa accident?
The accident on Tuesday, August 20, in the morning happened in the area of Migaa near Salgaa in Molo constituency after a serious accident involving a Coast Bus and many other vehicles.
Previously, the Red Cross Kenya said that the accident caused the death of eight people and left more than 30 people with various injuries.
“36 injured people have been taken to Molo and Coptic Hospitals following a road traffic incident involving a PSV bus and multiple vehicles at Migaa in Molo, Nakuru county,” confirmed KRCS.

However, the latest reports by Citizen TV show that the number of people who have passed away has increased to 13 people.
Five other bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of the Coast Bus which was badly damaged after landing in the tunnel.
Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Jasper Ombati said that 55 people suffered various injuries and are being treated at various hospitals in the area.
What caused the accident in Nakuru that killed 5 people?
In other sad news, uncertainty prevailed in the Mbaruk area following a fatal accident that claimed the lives of a woman and her four sons.
The incident occurred when their Mercedes Benz car, driven by Christopher Ambani and heading to Nakuru, collided head-on with a truck on the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway on Tuesday, August 13.
Gigil area OCPD Jamlek Ngaruiya reported that the Mercedes car was passing in the wrong lane, causing the fatal accident.
Ambani, believed by the police to be the father of the family, suffered injuries and was admitted to St. Joseph Hospital.
Road accident deaths in Kenya in 2024
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that as of April 2024, approximately 1,189 people had died in road accidents since the beginning of the year.
According to the National Transportation and Safety Administration, that number is 60 deaths higher than the same period in 2023.
NTSA data released on Monday, April 1, showed that 7,189 people in the country were involved in road accidents, as reported by Daily Nation.
