Nairobi – Detectives from the Baraka Police Station in Rongai sub-county have arrested a serial killer suspect.

In a statement on Monday, August 19, the office of the Director of Criminal Investigation said they arrested Ezekiel Kwame Mwangi due to a series of brutal killings in the area.
Did the suspect confess to killing Mueni Mwalimu?
After being arrested, the 19-year-old man confessed to being involved in the murder of four people, including a four-year-old child.
The suspect reportedly killed four women whose bodies were found in maize fields a few meters from each other in Menengai ward, Nakuru.

The people who are alleged to be Alice Ayuma, Mueni Mwalimu, Vera Mugambi and a fourth person who has not been identified, were found dumped with injuries and others without fingers.
“Mwangi is believed to be the mastermind of several criminal events. On July 14, 2024, he allegedly defiled and killed five-year-old Alice Ayuma Blessing, and dumped her body in a maize field in Mwangaza. On August 7, 2024, in Kalyet, is suspected of killing Mueni Mwalimu, 34 years old, by hitting him on the head with a blunt object and stabbing him in the stomach,” DCI he said.
The following day, August 8, 2024, at the Mustard Seed area in Kiamunyi, along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, Mwangi allegedly abused and killed 28-year-old Moraa Mugambi by hitting him on the head with a club,” the DCI said.
The suspect is currently being held at the Menengai Police Station, continuing his activities while waiting to be brought to court.
The first body discovered is that of Ayuma in Rugongo Village in Menengai Ward West.
A month later, Mueni's body was found in another corn field near the first location.
