The middle-aged man, Elikana Pokosi, reportedly killed his girlfriend in a suspected love dispute.
Gilgil police commander, Jamleck Ngaruiya said KTN that Elikana Pokosi attacked her lover, Millicent Akinyi, with a sword and a blunt instrument, causing serious injuries.
A local resident said it was not the first time the couple had fought, but this time they could not react quickly enough to separate them.
“It was not a small fight. It is said that the two threatened each other with knives, but we were able to stop them from hurting each other. Then we left with one that caused a conflict between the couple,” he said.
Residents of the area have asked the couple to resolve their disputes peacefully without causing violence.
“It is better to leave your partner or expel them if the dispute between you is not resolved peacefully. We are saddened by the incident as neighbors,” another resident said.
