Rigathi Gachagua Accuses Elected Leaders In Mt. Kenya Who Plan To Depose Him: “The Day Will Come”

How has Rigathi Gachagua been betrayed?

Speaking at an event on Saturday, August 18, in Njoro, the county NakuruGachagua claimed that the people he helped win the 2022 election were behind the plot to oust him.

Gachagua said despite campaigning for some leaders to win seats, they have now turned against him.

“There are many people I helped during the campaigns to seize the seats they hold today. But I realized that they are the same people who are planning to bring me down and attack me,” Gachagua said.

The deputy president warned that he will not support any leader who plans to topple him in the 2027 General Election.

“But the good thing is that elections come every five years. So the same people will need support in 2027. I will only support those who support me now.

In the warning of Rigathi Gachagua to the rebels of Mount Kenya

Gachagua added that the politics of deception, betrayal and fraud are part of the political process, and one needs a strong heart to survive.

“I have personally witnessed the politics of betrayal and embezzlement. The people I helped get elected are the same ones who have betrayed me. But politics is like that. You must have courage,” the vice president added.

The DP warned 'rebellious' leaders, saying they had until December to 'mend their ways'.

According to Gachagua, most of the rebels will not be re-elected in the 2027 elections.

“By December this year, the decision would have been made as to who will return and who will go home, after December you cannot change anything, for those who have lost their direction, you have until December to correct yourself,” he added.
