- The Cabinet Secretary also said that Nyanza region will no longer be separated from the country's government
Energy Minister Opiyo Wandayi has announced that the Nyanza area will always be included in government affairs.
What did Wandayi say?
During a thanksgiving service at his home in Ugunja on Friday, August 16, Wandayi assured his community that they will not be marginalized by the government again.
“As members of this community, we will never, and will never, find ourselves outside the government,” he said.
The minister also praised the broad government of the President William Rutosaying it highlights the differences across the country.
Wandayi also thanked the opposition leader Raila Odinga by allowing members with ties to ODM to join the government.
“I want to thank William Ruto for taking the initiative to unite Kenyans with the support of our leader Raila Odinga. We cannot forget the historic event that happened under the leadership of Ruto and Raila,” he said.
He assured the public that he will work hard for all Kenyans and ensure the delivery of quality services.
“My job is to support the president in making sure that electricity reaches every house in the country and every Kenyan gets enough services,” Wandayi added.
Raila says Uhuru asked him to help Ruto
Raila revealed that he was a former president Uhuru Kenyatta he asked him to help Ruto in addressing issues affecting Gen Zs in the country during the protests.
Speaking during the funeral service of former IEBC commissioner Irene Masit's father, Mzee Chirchir Masit, in Chepkorio, Elgeyo Marakwet county, Raila revealed Uhuru's involvement in designing a broad government.
The ODM leader added that after his conversation with Uhuru, Ruto contacted him which made him speak openly about the flaws of Ruto's government.
He seems to have hinted that he had a role in Ruto's decision to dissolve his entire Cabinet.
