During a roadside rally before thanking Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi in Ugunja, the lawmaker opened up about why it would be difficult to challenge the government.

Atandi who is a confidant of Azimio leader Raila Odinga said they are against Ruto's government because he has not included ODM leaders in his administration.

He explained that since ODM leaders had been appointed to key positions, opposing the government would be a way to tax.

“Ruto was bad because he did not put our people in his government. That is why we continued to oppose him; he had not put our people in his government. But now, he has added our people in his government, so we cannot oppose him. How many agree with that? “Can you oppose the government that Opiyo Wandayi is leading? That is why we are supporting Ruto.” Atandi said in the Luo language while being cheered.

Which ODM leaders were named in the Cabinet?

The President appointed four ODM leaders to his Cabinet on Wednesday, July 24.

Ali Hassan Joho was appointed by Ruto as the Minister of Maritime Affairs, Blue Economy and the Ministry of Mines.

The Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning is now John Mbadi.

James Opiyo Wandayi, former minority leader in the National Assembly, was appointed Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.

Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, former governor of Kakamegareceived a Development document from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Elsewhere, residents of Poisonous they refused to participate in the Nane Nane protest following the appointment of ODM leaders to Ruto's Cabinet.

One resident said they have returned to their businesses and will not participate in the protest, as their leaders are now included in the Kenya Kwanza government.
