According to the Head of the Government Communications Unit of Tamisemi, Nteghenjwa Hosseah, the announcement will be made at Chinangali Stadium in Dodoma at 6pm.

“This announcement will provide various details of the type of election that will be held and the entire flow of local government election events,” said Hosseah.

Among those that will be determined are the rules for the election of the township chairman in small town authorities in 2024, and the rules for the election of the local chairman and members of the local committee, 2024.

Others are the rules for local government elections in district authorities, 2024 and the rules for government elections in city authorities.

The regulations empower the relevant minister to issue an announcement to the public about the existence of elections in Kiswahili and English newspapers distributed throughout the country, and in other media not less than 90 days before election day.

The announcement will also make clear the election schedule and activities related to the important conditions of the election in accordance with those laws and regulations.
