Kirinyaga: A 70 -year -old woman has been brutally murdered in her home in Kiambwe village, Ndia sub -county.

The woman identified by the name of Hellen Muthoni Mwai was killed by unknown people who attacked her with a weapon and left her in serious condition on Tuesday night, March 18, 2025.
His body was found early on Wednesday, March 19.
Kirinyaga West County Police Commander Moses Koskei confirmed that Muthoni suffered serious injuries on the forehead.
“His body was some distance from his home, and he had visible wounds on the forehead,” Koskei said.
Muthon's family mourned with bitterness
Beatrice Wangari, the sister of the deceased, explained that she could not understand why her sister was brutally murdered.
He said that Muthoni, 70, was living alone at home after his children were growing up and leaving.
“I didn't believe Muthon was no longer there, especially because we were talking to him yesterday,” Wangari said sadly.
Joyce Gakuhi, who traveled from Kibirigwi after receiving reports of her aunt's murder, said their family was shocked by the brutal incident.
“I was told that my aunt was killed. Her body was placed in a hole, and she was stabbed in the neck. This is the first time to witness the murder in our family. We want justice to be achieved by our aunt,” Said Gakuhi as she burst into tears.
The local police commander assured the public that a thorough investigation had been established and that the authorities were trying to arrest the perpetrators as soon as possible.
“I want to tell the public that this case is being dealt with in an emergency, and we are determined to identify the perpetrators,” Koskei added.
The deceased's body has been taken to the mortuary of Kerugoya Hospital for a corpse examination.
Tharaka Nithi woman stabs her boyfriend
TUKO.co.ke previously reported that police in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County, are searching for a 48 -year -old woman who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death.
The suspect, whom police believe is from neighboring Tharaka Nithi county, was living with the deceased, a 40 -year -old man, at the Karucho Shopping Center at the incident.
After carrying out the murder, the woman escaped with her three children.
Police say the deceased suffered head injuries, which are thought to be caused by something he was hit by the suspect.
The deceased's body is stored in the Bugi corpse, Kutus, for the examination of the corpse.
