Having previously termed Rachier’s bid for a second term as unconstitutional, Odhiambo now claims that there are irregularities in the election process, casting doubt on its fairness.

“I am more than ready to face the challenges ahead. I will not run away from them because leadership is about being at the forefront, showing direction, and providing proper guidance,” she stated during a press conference in Nairobi on Tuesday, March 18.

Speaking via NTV, she reiterated her bid while calling for fairness in the process.

Odhiambo further called for the involvement of the sports registrar to oversee the election process, questioning the legitimacy of the current arrangements.

“I would even prefer the sports registrar to appoint a committee. Imagine being both a candidate and the referee at the same time—how does that work? These individuals should be vetted by the AGM, yet the AGM and the elections are happening on the same day,” she added.

Her concerns come in the wake of the announcement that Gor Mahia’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections will be held on April 13, 2025.
