Bhang worth 12.9M seized at Isebania border – Kenya News Agency






Bhang, worth Sh.12.9 million in street value, was seized at a residential house in the Tarakwiti area of Isebania town, Migori County.

Speaking to the Media at the Isebania Police Station, Migori Police Commander Francis Nguli said the house has been under surveillance for quite some time.

Fourteen and a half sacks of bhang were found hidden in the house with the occupant being nabbed during the morning operation.

In a separate incident, Isebania police also managed to impound 23 cartons of explosives, four drums of cyanides each weighing 50 Kilogrammes and two cartons of detonative wires largely used in mining.

Nguli cautioned all importers of goods to use the Isebania border point to ensure that the Kenya Revenue Authority Officials (KRA) certify all goods coming into the country.

Kuria West Deputy County Commissioner, Andrew Mwiti urged residents of Isebania to assist the police in addressing the challenges of illegal business along the border.

Mwiti disclosed that they have been working closely with the security team from Tanzania in addressing the illegal business along the Isebania-Sirare border.
