The Chief Executive Officer, Doreen Odhiambo, announced that the academy, which will be completed in 48 weeks, will significantly aid in the early development of sports and talents.
Speaking at Nalondo Sports ground school, Bungoma County, during the handing over of 4.5 hectares of land to the construction company that will undertake the works.
The CEO stated that the academy is a platform for athletes of all ages to enhance their skills and life aspirations through coaching and mentorship.
She encouraged community members to utilize the facility regardless of their age, asserting that talent can still be developed at any age.
However, she asked parents to avoid giving out their children’s birth certificates for use by older athletes saying the vice was impacting negatively on the growth and integrity of sports in the country.
The flagship project aims to serve as talent hubs, offering structured programs in various sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, hockey, and athletics.
