Why was Margaret Nduta not hanged?
In a recent update, elected MP Sabina Chege shared a new news about Nduta's fate.
According to Chege, the implementation has been stuck following the Kenyan government's intervention.
Speaking to the media at Nduta's home in Murang'a, Chege revealed that Nduta is alive in Vietnam and that Ruto and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contributed to the ceasefire.
“When that came in I talked about it in parliament and I also talked about the head of state, and I want to thank him because he has closely followed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are many aspects of diplomacy and communications are ongoing, but the best thing is, Nduta will not be hanged soon, the government will give his position immediately after the talks,” Sabina.
Why was Margaret Nduta arrested?
Nduta was arrested in July 2023 on his way to Laos, with more than two kilograms of cocaine.
It was reported that he was paid $ 1300 (approximately Ksh 168,350) by a man named Njoroge to send a jacket to a woman in Laos.
After being arrested and taken to court in Vietnam, Nduta claimed he was unaware of the drugs until they were discovered.
However, prosecutors dismissed his defense, leading to conviction and in accordance with Vietnam's law, he was sentenced to death.
His hanging was planned on March 17 at 8:30 pm, just one hour after his last meal.

How women are used without knowing how to transport drugs
It is always the dream of every woman, especially those who come from a poor environment to achieve life and change their parents' lives. Although some are successful, some are interested in poor contracts that cause them to lose their lives or end up in jail.
Due to the high unemployment rate in Kenya, several young people work hard and save a specific amount that they pay to agents promising to provide them with good paying jobs abroad. Some end up in Asian countries to do homework.
Although some find good employers, some find themselves in the hands of the cruel people who treat them wrong. It is said that Margaret had a contract to help her fish for work abroad, and was happy after being sent to the South East Asian country, hoping to change the lives of her family members.
Drug traffickers use stupid and ignorant women to transport drugs because there is an assumption that immigration officials never pay attention to women 'poorly dressed' and calm.
Some use the beauty to transport drugs, thinking that beautiful women attract everyone and no one can suspect them because they are popular.
As a result of hiding drugs on their luggage, electronic devices such as laptops, shoes and even want others to swallow tablets, those traders have a million ways to transport the drugs. Immediately after being arrested by immigration, the women are thrown into prison, while their bosses continue to persuade women to transport drugs.
