The win over Posta Rangers came as a relief for Tusker, ending a five-match winless streak that had threatened to derail their title ambitions.

Reflecting on the match, Okere highlighted the importance of converting chances and maintaining belief.

“It has been a tough match, but we got it right. In the first half, we created so many scoring opportunities and scored two goals courtesy of David Polepole and Teddy Dok. We have really tried to improve on our finishing, and it paid off today,” Okere said.

The coach acknowledged the psychological toll of the winless run but praised his team for their resilience.

“Five matches without a win is never easy, and if you’re not careful, it can affect the team mentally. But we sat down, identified areas we needed to improve, and worked on them. I thank everyone for pushing until the last minute. No risk, no story, and now you have something to write about.”

Okere emphasized Tusker’s long-term vision, which prioritizes player development alongside title ambitions.

With the league now on a break, Okere is keen to ensure his team maintains its momentum.

Injuries have affected the squad, but the coach is hopeful that by the time action resumes, he will have a fully fit squad.

“We are going to use this break wisely. We will have a comprehensive training program to ensure we don’t lose touch because if you’re not careful, breaks can disrupt momentum. Our goal is to stay at the top of the log for as long as possible. Ten finals to go, and we believe we can do it.”

As the title race intensifies, Tusker FC has made its intentions clear of gunning for the championship, and their rivals should take notice.
