In another part of the video, he was seen holding what appeared to be his passport, with packages containing the drugs arranged in front of him, looking straight at the camera.
He was detained in a room with a poster written in Vietnam Customs Inspection, in Vietnamese.
Why was Margaret Nduta arrested?
Nduta, who is from Murang'a County, was arrested in July 2023 on his way to Vietnam to Laos, a country in southeast Asia, with more than two kilograms of K*Kaine, according to a Vietnam report.
Media reports indicate that he was associated with the business with a man in Kenya, who sent him to hand over a woman to Laos, for a payment of $ 1,300 (approximately Ksh 170,000).
After his arrest, Nduta claimed he was unaware that he was carrying drugs.
He said he agreed to transport the bag in believing it had a valid product.
However, Vietnam's prosecutors dismissed his defense, saying that ignorance was not an excuse, especially since the amount of medicine he carried was so high.
