Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary (PS), Raymond Omollo, has urged the Kuria community to work closely with the County Administration chaired by Migori County Commissioner, to maintain peace, law and order for prosperity.

Omollo, who commissioned the Kebaroti Water Project at Kebaroti Comprehensive School in Kuria East Sub-county, called upon the Kuria community to unite like their local leaders to maintain peace in the region.

Omollo emphasised that the government will continue to ensure peace is achieved in the borders of Kisii and Narok counties to spur economic development in the region.

“We are working closely with leaders of the affected region, security agencies and communities from both counties to ensure we achieve a lasting peace for the economic growth of the two regions,” affirmed Omollo.

The PS explained that the security issue is not only a government problem, urging the community to maintain community policing and assist the local security teams in maintaining law and order.

“We cannot have economic growth if we do not have lasting peace, and it’s my appeal to all Kenyans to work with their local authorities in ensuring we have a peaceful nation,” said Omollo.

Omollo, who attended a church service at the Migori SDA Central Church, also inspected the ongoing progress of the 1.5 billion Kegonga Cluster Water and Sanitation Project at the Nyamanche water intake site in Kuria East Sub-county and the progress of the Taranganya-Loliondo road.

In attendance were Migori Governor, Ochilo Ayacko, Migori Senator, Eddy Oketch, Kuria East MP, Kitayama Maisori and Suna West MP, Peter Masara, who championed inclusivity and unity among the Migori residents.
