Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has commissioned two boreholes and a classroom in Kisau/Kiteta Ward in Mbooni Constituency on Thursday.
Kilonzo commissioned a borehole at Lung’u Primary School that will provide reliable water to 720 households in 6 villages, while a solarization of the Song’eni borehole will provide clean water to 600 residents.
The Governor also commissioned an Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classroom at Song’eni primary school.
Kilonzo challenged the residents to protect the projects against vandalism that he termed rampant in the area, saying destruction of the projects would impact negatively on them as they were the beneficiaries.
“Our government intends to provide clean water to the residents to ensure they have clean water. There is a need to protect these projects against vandalism. Destruction of the projects will impact negatively on you,” Kilonzo said.
During the events, 12-hundred-seater tents and chairs were issued to organized groups with a view to supporting income-generating activities to empower them economically to ensure social inclusion within the community.
