Has Ruto promised to turn the Eastlands streets into New York?

Speaking on Friday, March 14, President William Ruto promised to give the Eastlands an international improvement, similar to New York City or London.

He said he plans to achieve this by ensuring the improvement of housing under his affordable housing program.

“I tell you we will have a cheap house plan, we will be around 2700 homes in the first round. Later we will add more houses to reach 5000 houses,” He said.

The head of state said that he intended to ensure that the people of the Eastlands live like those living abroad.

He also vowed to provide 1,500 unemployed young people through a cheap housing program to help them develop their daily needs.

During his visit to Nairobi, Ruto repeatedly urged Kenyans to remain united and to reject divisive, ethnic politics.

He said Kenya is for everyone, regardless of ethnicity, skin color, religion, area or other divisions.
