In the latest update about Kasarani, the phase II of the renovations, the works at the VIP and VVIP section have also resumed in top gear with major renovations and upgrades at the latter stages of completion.

According to a video posted on YouTube on March 11, 2025 @allankamaliki, the area is seemingly divided into four parts which have different installations and fittings to satisfy the target audience. Unlike the rest of the stadium which has grey seats, the VIP seats are red in color.

Here is everything you need to know about the South African-linked players who could shine for Harambee Stars under new coach Benni McCarthy.

In the first section of the VIP, which borders the general sections, the seats are foldable to meet CAF standards, unlike the rest, which do not necessarily have to be foldable. In the second part, the seats are more comfortable as they are not only foldable but are also cushioned and have armrests. The area is equally spacious to provide guests with an ambiance that is required of those seated there and the price of tickets that they will purchase.

The third section is the VVIP, which is accessed through the skybox and is situated just about in the middle of the stadium. Here the seats that have been installed are just like the VIP but have cup holders added to them.

Kenya dealt a blow in the construction of stadia earmarked for AFCON 2027

Kenya has been dealt a blow in its ambitious multi-billion Talanta stadium project earmarked for AFCON 2027 with audit revealing millions lost.

The fourth section is the Presidential area, which is more secure and under bulletproof glass. The seats here are yet to be installed but are expected before CHAN. The area is expected to serve the President and top CAF officials and guests of that standard.

Stadium renovations have been a major talking point for the last few months. Kasarani was closed in August 2024. Meanwhile, Nyayo stadium, after its closure, will host the second leg of the 2026 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier match pitting Junior Starlets against Teen Cranes of Uganda on March 16. This is the first time the Stadium will be used after eight months.

Talanta Stadium is also under construction. The Government of Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering the state-of-the-art Talanta Hela Stadium by the end of this year, with the construction of the 60,000-seater facility currently 40% complete. The new stadium, set to be the country’s largest, is poised to transform the sporting landscape in Kenya.
