The Kenya Red Cross has set up a desk at the Molo Sub-County mortuary to help friends and relatives who lost their loved ones in a morning accident in Migaa to cope with the trauma.
In a statement on Friday, March 14, 2025, the Red Cross said that their teams in the region responded and helped in the recovery and provision of first aid assistance.
“Following the tragic road traffic incident at Migaa around 2:00 am, our teams assisted in recovery efforts and provided Psychological First Aid. We have set up a tracing desk and a psychosocial support (PSS) desk at Molo Sub-County Hospital Funeral Home to help families cope with the loss and trauma,” Red Cross stated.

The early accident involved a truck and a passenger van in the Migaa area, which is marked as a black spot.

Other accidents
The accident comes just days after 16 people were injured after a personal car and a matatu collided head-on in Kinungi.
“Head-on collision at Kinungi Soweto involving a personal car and a matatu leaves 16 casualties,” St. Johns Ambulance said in a statement on March 8, 2025.
The same day, two people lost their lives after a small aircraft crashed and burst into flames at Ikanga in Taita Taveta County.
“Two people lost their lives after a light aircraft crashed and burst into flames in Ikanga village, Voi. St. John’s Ambulance responders, police, and firefighters responded to the incident. Our deepest sympathies to the families affected,” St. John’s Ambulance said.
The next day, on March 9, 2025, one person was killed after a pickup rammed into a truck at Kwa Makara, Kinungi, along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
“First responders braved the cold night to provide first aid, ensuring the injured were taken to Naivasha Sub-County Hospital,” the charity organization said in a statement.
