Has the government sold the Bomas of Kenya?

Addressing believers at Ack Holy Trinity Church in Kitengela, Kajiado County, Sunday, March 9, Gachagua claimed that the Bomas of Kenya had been sold to Turkish citizens.

He explained that the sale was approved by the Cabinet, but he was the only one who opposed the move.

“So far as we speak, Bomas of Kenya has been sold to Turkish citizens. Ministers were notified of this, and I was the only one who opposed it.“Gachagua claimed.

He added that the government continued with the plan, despite objections from the Kenya Air Transport Authority (KCAA), which warned that Bomas is within the essential airway.

“Aviation authorities opposed the move. They said that the flight to Wilson's airport passed over Bomas, and the construction of a tall building in the area would be dangerous,” Gachagua said.

Has the government approved the sale of Bomas?

The former deputy president further claimed that the Turkish investor was a business partner of a senior government official.

Gachagua said that after he strongly opposed the sale, the President's government William Ruto It temporarily suspended the plan, but continued it after he (Gachagua) was removed from the government.

Government approves Bomas Improvement

A Cabinet statement released on August 8, 2023, revealed that the BICC would include a modern conference center, a presidential platform, and five luxury hotels.

The government stated that the program would strengthen the economy by increasing tourism, generosity, and air travel industry.
