The president sparked a rumor recently after promising to donate KSh 120 million for the construction of the church in Roysambu.

He had attended a service at Jesus Winner Ministry on Sunday, March 2, where he promised the money; KSh 20 million will come from him personally, with KSh 100 million from his friends.

The promise shocked many Kenyans, who felt that millions might have been looted from the public treasury.

The offended citizens threatened to invade the church on Sunday, March 9, and took the millions.

Despite the outrage, the President welcomed Bishop Edward Mwai, the founder of the church, in the Nairobi White House on Thursday, March 6, accompanied by other pastors serving in the church.

The president congratulated the preacher on his projects that help to promote key sectors of the economy, including preparing young people for the labor market, both domestically and abroad.

Ruto also revealed that Mwai gave him information about the development of the church, which has become a controversial center of the donation of millions of shillings.

“We thank the Jesus Winner Ministry Church for supporting our employment program abroad by hosting the recruitment exercise, which aims to find work for our young people. The government will continue to support these efforts as we expand employment and income for our youth. Ruto wrote on X -web.

Initially, before his trip to the White House, Mwai explained to the public that the President had not yet given the money he had promised. He tried to dismiss allegations that his church had received the money shortly after Ruto's announcement.

The pastor said that he did not receive direct sacrifices and contributions, explaining that the money promised by Ruto had not yet entered the church accounts.

The Jesus Winner Ministry Church continues to build a modern worship center, which Pastor Leader explained will cost the believers approximately KSh 1 billion.

Among the services that the new Church will have is the Hephari landing area (HEPAD) and underground parking.

In addition to the millions he promised the church, Ruto said he had intervened and persuaded the Kenyan Defense Force (KDF) to release a piece of land in Roysambu, which he said would be handed over to the church and a new ownership document to confirm the transfer.

The president also promised to support the construction of a half -kilometer road with a pavement towards a new church.
