A Nairobi man claims a wife abandoned him after receiving KSh 7.1m loan: “I taught him”

A frustrated Kenyan man has accused his wife of abandoning him, despite his efforts to give him a good life.

Did a woman leave her husband in Nairobi?

Benson Otieno Odhiambo told TUKO.co.ke that they had been married for 10 years before his wife suddenly plunged the bags and left with the children with all the household items.

“We got married in 2011 and we made our residence when we met. He was working in a government agency and loved each other.

Odhiambo said that at the time he was working Tanzania And they had their first child in 2014.

“We had two other children in 2016 and 2017.”

The father of three said he had built a house in the administrative area but his wife did not like it, so he began to build another Kitengela.

“What was important to me was to build a good home to raise my family.”

The couple struggled to complete the construction of the house and agreed to take out a home loan in 2018.

“We applied for a loan to complete the family home – we had finished the ground floor and we wanted to add another apartment. The money was given in December 2019.”

However, according to Odhiambo, his life changed as soon as his wife received Ksh 7.1 million.

“It was Sunday and he said he would take the children to church. I took my car to the car washing station and we agreed to meet later.”

A few hours later, his friend called on the phone to ask him if he was moving as there was a truck at his house.

Odhiambo said he returned home and found his family and household items disappearing.

“I couldn't find my wife through her phone or social networks. She even blocked her aunt, who was there when I paid a dowry. She was also transferred to her work.”

Odhiambo said he got into stress because he had a close relationship with his children.

“She is the auditor and I paid her fees, and I was taking her to school. When my second child was young, her mother traveled to India for four months and I left my job in Tanzania to raise the children because my family was my priority.”

Odhiambo admitted that he started drinking too much alcohol due to stress. The situation worsened when his wife sent him divorce documents, accusing him of abuse and marriage.

“It's very painful. We were together for 10 years and I invested so much for him and our family.”

He emphasized that he does not want reconciliation, but wants to see his children.
