Martha Karua says she is ready to work with Raila again, refusing to be a candidate

Nairobi – People's Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua has expressed his intention to work with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

A veteran politician emphasized his readiness to cooperate with the former Prime Minister and other Kenyan leaders to transform the country.

However, Karua, well -known as Iron Lady, vehemently denied the possibility of being a candidate for the 2027 general election.

In an interview with Citizen TV on Wednesday, February 26, Karua emphasized his commitment to bringing national solidarity and reform.

Asked if he was ready to work with Raila again, Karua replied with confirmation but made it clear that any partnership would not involve him to replace the candidate.

He emphasized that his commitment to working with Kenyans is not only for Raila but for any leader who volunteered to liberate and transform the country for the benefit of all citizens.

“Am I ready to work with Raila Odinga again? Yes, but not in support of him, maybe he helps me. But I am ready to work not only with Raila, but with any Kenyan because we are all one nation. Karua announced.

Who will Karua be a candidate for 2027?

When emphasized on whether he would agree to be Raila's running mate if he would run for president in 2027, Karua refused.

“No. Of course, I've said I don't want to be a candidate. I can help someone, but I will not contest as a fellow candidate,” He said firmly.

Even when asked if he would agree to be a wiper leader's running mate, Kalonzo MusyokaKarua maintained his position.

“I said I would not be a candidate, but I can support someone else. Yes, I have graduated with a candidate's position,” announced.

In January, Karua suggested that presidential candidates from opposition should join behind one candidate to oppose President William Ruto in the 2027 elections.

Responding to the recommendation of the regional candidates, Karua emphasized the importance of prioritizing national interests rather than personal goals, saying that candidates should create their agendas with an understanding that Kenya's welfare should be the first before personal interest.

He explained that he believes that eventually all candidates will agree to support one candidate to ensure that Ruto is removed from office.

This call of union followed his meeting with the former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachaguaat his residence in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County.
