South African legend Benni McCarthy has reportedly decided on the men who will join his technical bench when he takes over as Harambee Stars coach.
Competing in a Ford Fiesta Rally2, the event will provide him with valuable seat time on gravel—an essential opportunity to refine his technique ahead of the demanding Portuguese WRC round.
Reflecting on his performance in Sweden, Sesks was upbeat about his pace and consistency.
“I’m quite happy about our performance and our consistency,” he said as per WRC Portal
“With our ‘safe speed,’ we managed to get through the rally and collected some decent times as well.
“Especially on the second passes, where we were a bit more used to the road conditions, we were able to get some top-three times which was the big positive of the weekend. On some other stages, we posted some competitive split times, so I think the good thing is that we can see we have the speed here and we can drive really fast in some circumstances.”

Victor Wanyama has hinted at where he is likely to play next as he weighs his options from a number of several offers on his table.
The experience gained on the snow-covered roads will be crucial as he transitions to the gravel surface of Portugal, a rally known for its high-speed sections and rough terrain.
For Sesks, the biggest takeaway from Sweden was the confidence boost and experience gained.
“I think the big thing from Sweden was the experience and to build some consistency for the future, and for the rest of the season to come this is a good start. I think it was quite a decent result,” he added.
Portugal will be a significant challenge, but it is also a rally that holds special memories for Sesks.
In 2021, he claimed an impressive Junior WRC victory in Portuga edging out current Toyota GAZOO Racing driver Sami Pajari.
