Ambani believes Police have what it takes to replicate last season’s success and retain their title.
“They are the current title holders, and that tells you they will be thirsty to go for it again this season… I am definitely sure they will challenge for this title with all they have in store,” Ambani was quoted as saying by Citizen Digital.
Kenya Police FC clinched the 2024 FKF Cup after a dramatic final against KCB, triumphing 8-7 in post-match penalties.
The match, which ended goalless after regulation and extra time, saw goalkeeper Patrick Matasi score the decisive penalty, earning Police a coveted spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Last season, FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia joined them on the continental stage.
Ambani emphasized that the FKF Cup remains the shortest and most direct route to securing a place in CAF competitions.
