Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is reportedly on the verge of dismissing Harambee Starlets’ head coach, Beldine Odemba, irrespective of the outcome against Tunisia on Tuesday according to insiders.

Despite naming a 23-member squad for the crucial Tunisia much-awaited encounter, Odemba has come under scrutiny for her tactical ineptitude and tinkering of the squad causing a heated debate on social media with fans calling for her resignation after appearing to sideline key members of the squad.
“It’s been decided that Tuesday will be her last game as Starlets coach unless there’s a change of plan. The decision isn’t about her personally, but the team’s performance. There’s a belief that for progress to be made, a new direction is needed with a fresh technical team leading the squad. The players have potential, but new ideas are required,” the insider revealed.
The decision to part ways with Odemba, who also coaches Kenya Police Bullets FC and Highway Secondary School, comes after angry fans questioned why she played against Tunisia without a recognized striker despite having Jentrix Shikangwa, the Tanzanian Women’s Premier League top scorer on the bench.
As public discontent grows, FKF has reportedly initiated the process of replacing Odemba.
Odemba, who took over as Starlets coach in September 2023 following Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor’s departure, has overseen eight matches. During her tenure, she secured two wins, two draws and four loses.
Kenya need to avoid defeat in Tunis to go into the next round of the WAFCON qualifiers but it won’t be a walk in the park at against the North Africans.
