Raila Odinga He has returned to Kenya after failing to succeed in his intention to run for the Chairman of the African Union (AUC).

Odinga was welcomed with great joy in Mombasa, where he met President William Ruto and deputy president Kithure Kindiki.
Addressing the nation with the two leaders, Odinga expressed his joy to return home.
“Now I am happy to return home. East, west, north, south at home is much better. I feel happy and comforted that Kenya again after all we have gone through,” Odinga said with sincere feelings.
In his speech, Odinga used the opportunity to thank the President Ruto and the entire Kenyan leadership for their unstable support during his campaign to contest the position of the AUC chairman.
He recognized the collective efforts of those who escorted him across Africa, appreciating the solidarity shown during his movement to seek continental leadership.
“I want to thank you, the President, Deputy President, Ministers, Leaders, and Kenyans in general who have traveled with us in all corners of the African continent,” Odinga said, expressing his gratitude for the solidarity of his fellow citizens.
Recalling his trip to the position, Odinga explained that although he was unsuccessful, the experience was open, giving him important lessons about the African political theme.
He noted that the campaign journey gave him a unique opportunity to better understand the African continent, its challenges, and its opportunities in detail.
