Kenyan entertainer Stevo Simple Boy brought laughter and joy to revellers at Kamkunji Police Station during their New Year’s celebration.
The event, held to mark the start of 2025, saw the popular musician entertain the crowd with his performance and humour.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, February 22, 2025, Stevo took the stage and jokingly introduced himself as the head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), drawing laughter from the audience.
The crowd erupted in amusement as he confidently declared that he was also a police officer based in Kasarani, humorously claiming a senior position within the DCI.
“Pia mimi ni polisi pale Kasarani, mimi ni mkubwa was DCI,” Stevo told the crowd.
The ‘Freshi Barida‘ hitmaker recently shared his journey of overcoming financial struggles and career setbacks. After facing hardships, including the loss of his management team and relocating back to Kibera, Stevo has found stability and regained his footing in the music industry.
In a recent interview with a local TV station, the artiste revealed that he had experienced a financial breakthrough and was now earning well from his music. He credited his improved financial state to travelling abroad and performing at various shows, which helped him get back on track. Additionally, he acknowledged his stylists for playing a role in shaping his unique fashion sense.
Stevo emphasized the importance of backing local musicians to uplift the Kenyan music industry. He noted that his growing success was proof that music is a rewarding career, urging fans to continue supporting local talent.
“This is great, and if Kenyans also support me, Kenyan music will also rise. If there is a show, people say Stivo can actually do it. Muziki inalipa. Mimi niko sawa,” he said.
Speaking in another interview with a local radio station, Stevo shared his happiness and satisfaction with his career’s progress. He reassured fans that he was now in a good place and making a decent living from his music. However, he stressed the need for continued support from his followers to sustain his momentum in the industry.
“Saa hii siko vibaya. Niko yente yente. I just need more support from fans,” he stated.
