Githurai: Inteachers arrest 3 including 2 police officers who were exposed to civilians

What officers were arrested in Githurai

On Tuesday, February 18, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) said the three suspects were involved in the case of theft on the Githurai-Soweto railway line.

It was found that two suspects are serving police officers identified as Fedrick Githinji Waithera and Edward Chege Mwangi.

“Police officers at the Githurai police station have arrested Kelvin Chomba along with two police officers, Fredrick Githinji Waithera and Edward Chege Mwangi, for their involvement in a vengeance attempt that took place on the Githurai-Soweto railway line,” DCI It said.

DCI narrated how on the night of February 17, 2025, while doing regular patrol duties, the officers encountered a confusing situation.

The three suspects had crushed one citizen on the ground trying to rob him of his valuables before the officers took immediate action and intervened.

“Active and effective action, the officers intervened and arrested the three and escorted them to the Githurai Police Post where they were dealt with and brought to court tomorrow,” It added the information.
