Ferdinand lawyers have denied reports he has been issued KNH, appealed against a 12 -year sentence

The former governor has also filed a request for a bail release pending his request in the KSh 558 million corruption case where he was found guilty with his wife.

Is Ferdinand Waititu lying in KNH?

His lawyers Danstan OmariShadrack Wambui and Sam Nyaberi also revealed that Waititu was hospitalized at a clinic in the industrial unit prison and not the Kenya National Hospital (KNH) as reported.

The health condition of the former governor is said to be deteriorating at the end of the week.

“The assumption emerged that Waititu was admitted or went to hide in Kenyatta National Hospital. The fact of the matter was that he was not right when he was in court and the court was notified and issued his orders to be taken to hospital,” His lawyer told TUKO.co.ke outside the Mountains Court after submitting the appeal.

“His defense squad went to him to Kenyatta National Hospital where the doctor wanted him to be prevented but his team refused and is currently undergoing treatment at the Industrial Area prison,” He added.

Why Waititu has appealed against 12 years in prison

In his appeal presented in the Supreme Court on the Anti -Corruption of the Mountains, Waititu accuses Judge Thomas Nzyoki of not investigating the evidence presented by the prosecution.

He questions, through his lawyers, that there was no evidence to support the allegations that he used his position to enrich himself and that there was no connection between Lake Naivasha Resort and the complainant.

In addition, Waititu doubts the right of the case, claiming that the court showed favoritism and failed to comply with the constitutional principles of the justice case.

His appeal outlines a number of reasons, including the prosecutor's claim to fail to fulfill the required burden of confirmation, the first court's claim to ignore the inconsistent of the prosecutor's case, and the absence of senior witnesses.

The Waititu lawyers' team claimed that the court ignored the opposition in evidence, which raised doubts about its involvement in the alleged offenses.

They also stated that this was not the first time a prisoner had appealed to the jail imprisonment, citing Syrian MP John Waluke.
