Johnson Nzioka: National Chairman Kepsha dies in a Nairobi-Mombasa road accident

  • Donholm Primary School Principal and Kepsha National Chairman Johnson Nzioka died in a traumatic road accident on Sunday, February 15
  • Nzioka, who has served as a headmaster for almost two decades, died after his car hit a trailer in the Athi River area
  • Several Kenyans, including Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, have sent their condolences to his family

Machakos – Education stakeholders have plunged into mourning following the sudden death of Kenya Primary School Teachers Chairman (Kepsha), Johnson Nzioka.

Nzioka became a head teacher with almost two decades, serving at various schools in Nairobi.

He was the organizer of the East African Primary School Teachers, a role that gave him a major influence in the regional education sector.

On March 3, 2021, he was appointed Acting National Chairman of Kepsha after the retirement of Nicholas Gathemia.

In his leadership, Kepsha continued to commit to improving primary education, advocating for the interests of senior teachers, and promoting beneficial cooperation for teachers and students.

His contribution to the education sector gave him respect and recognition.

After news of his death, several leaders and Kenyans gave their condolences to the Nzioka family and the education community.

Embakasi East MP, Grandpa Owinohe said,

“I would like to give my sincere condolences to Mr Johnson Nzioka; the headmaster of the Donholm Primary School whose car crashed into a trailer along Mombasa Road. In peace, my friend. “
