Rap heavyweights King Kaka and Scar Mkadinali have set the stage for heated discussions with their latest joint album, featuring a track titled ‘Judge Koome’.

In a surprise collaboration, the two formidable rap talents released a joint album ‘Fluent Trauma’ on Valentine’s Day February 14, 2025.

The 11-track project blends King Kaka’s poetic lyricism with Scar Mkadinali’s raw street narratives, delivering a powerful statement on contemporary Kenyan society.

One of the most talked-about tracks from the album is ‘Judge Koome’, a title that appears to reference Chief Justice Martha Koome, who has been at the centre of increasing calls to resign over accusations of incompetence.

Though the lyrics of the song remain undisclosed as of now, the mere mention of the name sparks intrigue given the ongoing legal and political tensions surrounding the Chief Justice.

The controversy stems from a petition filed in September 2024 by lawyer Christopher Rosana, seeking Koome’s removal following the Supreme Court’s contentious decision to bar Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi from appearing before it.

The issue escalated further on January 29, 2025, when 13 advocates from Ahmednasir Abdullahi Advocates LLP submitted a petition to the Judicial Service Commission, accusing the Supreme Court’s seven justices, including Chief Justice Koome, of misconduct.

The lawyers argue that banning an entire law firm from appearing before the apex court amounts to a violation of professional rights and gross misconduct.

While it remains unclear how explicitly the song ‘Judge Koome’ addresses this legal battle, its inclusion on the ‘Fluent Trauma’ album suggests that King Kaka and Scar Mkadinali are not shying away from socio-political discourse.

Known for their sharp lyricism and fearless social commentary, the duo appears to be pushing artistic and political boundaries, leaving fans eager to dissect the song’s deeper meaning.

With speculation swirling around the track’s inspiration, the album is already making waves in the hip-hop scene.
