Tusker FC are banking on Ryan Ogam to help the team beat Gor Mahia in a potential title-decider on Sunday.
Tusker FC coach Charles Okere has challenged FKFPL top scorer Ryan Ogam to rediscover his finishing touch when the brewers take on defending champions Gor Mahia on Sunday.
Okere’s sentiments come in the wake of the burly striker failing to find the back of the net in the last two matches, an outcome that condemned the 13-time champions to two consecutive draws, throwing the FKFPL title race open.
Ogam, the former Division One Rainbow FC player, was heavily linked with a move away from the club in the January transfer window. Perhaps the transfer speculations might have destabilized the ruthless forward who has scored 15 goals and remains firmly on course to bag the Golden Boot award.
Former harambee Starlets coach, Okere, said Tusker must strike a balance in defense and attack, banking on Ogam to end his goal drought and hand the team maximum points at the Kenyatta Stadium on Sunday.

Ingwe have agreed to part ways with the Rwandan forward who has struggled with off-field issues during his time at the Den.
“We must find our edge. Scoring goals and not conceding is the only secret. Since our backline is solid, we need to convert more chances up front. Ryan Ogam is a prolific and intelligent striker. As Tusker, he remains part of us, and we continue to encourage him to stay focused. When the time comes, we will see how things unfold,” Okere told Citizen Digital.
Ogam was a torn in the flesh of Gor Mahia defense, scoring a brace in the first leg to end Tusker’s winless run against the record champions. Tusker, Police FC and Gor Mahia and are in a three-way title battle, with the former two currently the joint leaders having opened a four-point cushion against Gor Mahia.
Two back-to-back wins for Gor Mahia has injected belief into Sinica Mihic’s side as the newly-appointed Croatian coach hopes to stamp his authority with the Kenyan champions should they register another statement win.
