What are the reasons for the accusation of Wetang'ula?

Odhiambo claimed that the Supreme Court had ruled that Wetang'ula could not continue to be the leader of the Ford Kenya party and the Speaker of Parliament at the same time.

He suggested that Wetang'ula could avoid being charged by choosing between serving as a Speaker or remaining a party leader.

The MP said the conflict and confusion that recently emerged in parliament stemmed from the Speaker's demands to favor one side.

“He can be charged. I have been told there is a MP who is ready to make a motion to sue him. Odhiambo said during the TV debate.

Kathiani MP Robert Mbui accused Wetang'ula of interfering with parliamentary contributions, insisting he should remain on either side.

Added that Wetang'ula allegedly treated members in an incorrect way and preferred Kenya firstsuggesting that he is under pressure to submit the union.

“I think he is probably under pressure because he is part of Kenya first. So he is under pressure to perform for the coalition and that is not fair. Why did the court stop Wetang'ula from leading Ford Kenya?

On Friday, February 7, Wetang'ula faced a difficult situation after the Supreme Court decided he could no longer be the leader of the Ford Kenya party.

The court ruled that Wetang'ula's role as Ford Kenya leader and the Speaker of the National Assembly was unconstitutional.

The three judges court ruled that Wetang'ula resigned as Ford Kenya's leader after he took over the position of Speaker of the National Assembly.

The court emphasized the importance of Wetang'ula to maintain impartiality in its role as a public official.

However, Wetang'ula rejected the Supreme Court's decision on his two responsibilities.

The veteran politician dismissed the decision as a “common opinion” in the law, saying it was unnecessary and had no effect.

Through his legal adviser, Benson Milimo, Wetang'ula explained that the court had not ordered him to release any office.

He also emphasized that the court did not order him to resign as Speaker of the National Assembly or resign as Ford Kenya party leader.
