Eric omondi vows to help homeless man lectured by Geoffrey Mosiria for erecting kibanda home along highway
Kenyan comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi has vowed to help a man who was confronted by Nairobi County Environment CEC Geoffrey Mosiria for erecting a makeshift shelter along the highway.
In a video that has gone viral, the man is seen arguing with Mosiria after the county official confronted him about his structure.
Taking to his Instagram page on Thursday, February 13, Omondi expressed his concern over the situation and called on his followers to help locate the man. He promised to build him a small house, acknowledging that the struggle the man faces is a reality for many Kenyans.
“This video is extremely heartbreaking. This guy represents most Kenyans and the situation on the ground. We will build him a small house. Please help me find him,” Omondi wrote.

In the video, the man appeared frustrated as the county official reprimanded him, stating that residing along the roadside was illegal. In his defence, the man explained that not everyone has the luxury of regular meals or financial stability.
“Kama wewe umekula chakula mapema, sisi hatujakula, tuheshimiane,” the man can be heard saying.
The makeshift incident
According to Mosiria, he had received reports about unauthorized structures and illegal dumping near the Galleria roundabout underpass. Upon visiting the site, he confirmed the presence of the makeshift shelters and promised to take action to restore order.
Mosiria said that the county government would provide medical assistance to the man, whom he described as someone dealing with mental health challenges. He also noted that the county had given him food and assured him that efforts were being made to maintain cleanliness while upholding the law.
“A recent social media post highlighting illegal structures and dumping at the Galleria roundabout underpass, I visited the site and confirmed these issues. We will remove the unauthorized structures and ensure proper waste collection to restore order. Regarding the individual with mental health challenges who engaged us, we will facilitate medical attention and have provided him with food today. Let’s uphold the law and maintain a clean environment,” Mosiria claimed.
