Nakuru: Managers of a private hospital in Naivasha, Nakuru County, are trying to agree with an incident in which one mother allegedly abandoned her baby her son in the center due to disability.

Why did Nakuru's mother reject her son
According to the supervision of an ITARC hospital in Longonot, the mother said her son was “cursed”, refused to breastfeed and even wearing clothes after birth.
The baby was born with a rare disability, especially on his face.
The hospital's doctor, Benson Kimani, told TUKO.co.ke that the baby had no nose, his skull was incomplete formed, and some fingers of the hands and feet were missing.

Dr Kimani explained that the baby was breathing through her mouth due to the problem, which puts her at risk of contracting the disease.

Since abandonment, hospital staff have been taking care of the baby. However, management has highlighted the importance of immediate surgery to correct its condition.
In turn, Dr. Muchai Kimani, who is also a doctor at the hospital, said that the baby's mother rejected her because of the beliefs of her community.
At present, the hospital feeds the baby with formula milk while looking for another hospital that may receive him for special surgery.

The service manager at the hospital, James Kabuki, said they had already found a specialist at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) who would perform the surgery.
“This surgery is expensive, and we will also need permanent residence for the baby after the operation. We urge various organizations to come out to help,” Said Kabuki.
“We will do everything we can to give this child a chance to live,” He added the director of the hospital, Njoroge Wainana.
