Former governor of Kiambu Ferdinand Waititu And his wife Susan Wangari has been convicted of a conflict of interest that led to the county losing KSh 588 million.

The two were brought before Magistrate Thomas Nzioki of the Anti -Corruption Court to answer charges related to, among others, money laundering, abuse of office conflict of interest, and the purchase of fraud.
The judge said the evidence presented by the government prosecution involved adequately involving the defendants in fraudulent acts.
This followed an investigation by the Ethics and Anti -Corruption Commission (EACC), which results in the Waititu -owned family with a Kiambu County government to get a tender through fraud as governor.
The accused along with Waititu and his wife were officers who served under him during his leadership in the county leadership.
As presented by TUKO.co.ke, the case involves the issuance of KSh 588,198,328 contracts for the exchange of several gravel roads in sub -counties ThikaLimuru, Gatundu North, Juja, and Ruiru to bituminous levels.
