Rwanda – About 20 people have been confirmed dead following a fatal accident in Rulindo district.
How did the Rulindo bus accident happen?
Several passengers have been seriously injured in a fatal road accident involving a passenger bus owned by 'International' transport company on Tuesday, February 11.
The New Times reported that the bus left the road near the 'Ku Kirenge' area in Rulindo District, overturned and plunged at a distance of approximately 800 meters below the slope where it collapsed.
Earlier reports indicated that the bus, traveling from Kigali to Musanze, had 51 passengers when it was involved in an accident.
Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente confirmed the tragic incident, saying that 20 people died while others suffered injuries and continued to receive treatment at various hospitals.

“The Rwandan government is giving genuine condolences to families who lost their loved ones in a fatal road accident that occurred today in the Rusiga industry, Rulindo district and caused the deaths of 20 people while others were injured,” Said Ngirente.
The Prime Minister urged drivers and road users to comply with traffic rules to avoid such accidents.
“We remind all road users, especially drivers, to follow the rules and regulations of road safety to prevent accidents and save lives,” he added.
Graduate dies a few hours before starting a new job
In a traumatic event, Jackson Justin, a 25 -year -old graduate, lost his life in a fatal accident just two days before he started his new job.
The accident, which took place on February 1, 2025, also took the life of a retired teacher and his son.
Justin's family stated that his last contact was through WhatsApp status His, showing that he was on a journey. However, shortly afterwards, his family received news of his death through social networks.
