Vice Chairman Lindah Kiome expressed the confidence and schedule of the panel, noting that the process was on the stream.

“When we submit those names by April 25, it means that by May, we have a new commission in accordance with the law,” He said.

Despite development, the panel faces legal challenges. Advocate Apollo Mboya filed a petition in the Mountains Court seeking to block the appointment of Professor Adams Oloo on the nomination panel.

Oloo, who is currently serving as a strategic and communication advisor in the President's Office, is accused of failing to represent the Parliamentary Service Commission – one of the main stakeholders in the process – due to a conflict of interest.

Mboya argues that Oloo's appointment violates the principle of neutrality and the division of authority, thus raising concerns about the integrity of the selection process.

However, the panel said that it had not received any court orders to suspend its operations.

“I will let the court make a decision, but in our case there is no restraint, so we continue with our work with the delegate until it is directed to the court,” Said Kiome.
