Olympic silver medalist Sha’Carri Richardson and her boyfriend, Christian Coleman, have defended Noah Lyles against bold allegations from popular internet personality Darren Jason Watkins Jr., better known as iShowSpeed or simply Speed.
The incident unfolded at the NFL Super Bowl, where Speed encountered Richardson and Coleman and made a series of exaggerated claims about his sprinting prowess.
The YouTuber, known for his high-energy antics, challenged Richardson to a race before she laid out the conditions for accepting.

They eventually shook on an agreement that would see Speed train with the reigning women’s 100m world champion.
Confident as ever, Speed boasted about his abilities. “I’m gonna still win though,” he insisted in a video posted by a fan page and seen by Pulse Sports. Richardson, however, remained unfazed.
“I don’t know about that. I don’t talk too much, but if you wanna race, this is Christian Coleman—we are two of the fastest individuals,” Richardson responded, referring to her boyfriend, who is a world champion sprinter himself.

Noah Lyles has offered to train IShowSpeed, only if he would agree to put his streaming career on a halt and change a few things about his lifestyle.
The conversation took a turn when Speed falsely claimed he had already beaten Olympic champion Noah Lyles.
“I can race anybody, anybody can get it. I already beat Noah,” Speed declared, referencing his previous race against Lyles in 2024. However, this claim was quickly refuted by both Richardson and Coleman.
Speed had raced Lyles in a MrBeast YouTube video, competing in a 50-yard dash for a $100,000 cash prize.

Michael Johnson has predicted that in the head-to-head track race, Noah Lyles will decisively outpace Tyreek Hill.
While the YouTuber had an impressive start, Lyles’ Olympic-level sprinting abilities became evident towards the end, as he comfortably outran Speed.
Coleman wasted no time correcting Speed’s assertion. “No you didn’t, I saw the video,” he replied, dismissing the claim.
Richardson further clarified, adding, “Noah was out of season when he competed against you.”

Michael Johnson’s inaugural Grand Slam Track has now secured a broadcast deal, a key component that had made Noah Lyles hesitant to sign.
Following his loss to Lyles, Speed had demanded a rematch, but the Olympic champion declined, instead offering to train the YouTuber for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Despite Speed’s competitive spirit and willingness to challenge elite sprinters, Richardson has echoed similar sentiments to Lyles, suggesting that training, rather than racing, would be the best way for Speed to improve his sprinting capabilities.
