Michael Johnson has predicted that in the head-to-head track race, Noah Lyles will decisively outpace Tyreek Hill.
American sprint legend Michael Johnson has weighed in on the highly-anticipated clash between Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles.
The four-time Olympic champion believes that Noah Lyles will be the one to carry the day and there is no day he would doubt the potential the triple world champion has.
He explained that the way an athlete runs on the track is very different from how a footballer competes, noting that Noah Lyles has a greater chance of stunning Tyreek Hill.
Michael Johnson added that any football player wanting to race against an accomplished sprinter stands to lose a race.
“I’m not putting somebody like Tyreek against world-class athletes. The Tyreek-Noah conversation has become a thing, so we would create something for them that’s really cool,” Michael Johnson said as quoted by Talk Sport.
“But if it’s a track event, that’s not a race. Noah is killing him. There’s track speed, then there’s football speed.”
Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill have already started calling out each other this season with their race date yet to be confirmed.
At the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, Noah Lyles claimed the win in the 60m and a few minutes after crossing the finish line, he held out the backside of his bib written, ‘Tyreek could never.’
In a post-race interview, he once again challenged Tyreek Hill for the race, noting that he is ready for the challenge.
In response, Tyreek Hill insisted that Noah Lyles is afraid to lose the race to him, the reason behind his unwarranted attack. He also explained why he stands a high chance to win the race over Noah Lyles.
“Noah Lyles is scared. I mean, yes. He should be. He should be, man, because when you think of a smaller stature guy like myself, I have great turnover,” Tyreek Hill made the remarks on the Fantasy Football Happy Hour podcast.
Their beef started after the Paris Olympic Games when Noah Lyles lost the 200m title, finishing third behind Letsile Tebogo and Kenny Bednarek.

Despite having an amazing holiday, Julien Alfred was eager to move on and return to her routine, embracing the next phase of her journey.
Noah Lyles later claimed to have tested positive for COVID-19 but Tyreek Hill called him out and alleged that he might have faked his sickness after losing.
He then challenged Noah Lyles to a race, confident that he would beat him while wearing a mask. Noah Lyles agreed to the challenge and since then, they have been in talks to execute a unique experience.
As the two gear up for the challenge, Michael Johnson has already given his verdict on who would seemingly take the win and fans are eagerly waiting to see if his prediction comes true.
