The court said that Wetang'ula leading the party when he was the Speaker of the National Assembly was unconstitutional.
The three judges' court said that Wetang'ula stopped leading Ford Kenya after holding his position as Speaker.
“As soon as he was the Speaker of the National Assembly, he stopped being the leader of Ford Kenya,” The court said.
The court emphasized the need for Wetang'ula to maintain impartiality in its role, as one of the people serving in the public office.

Wetang'ula, in photos circulated on social networks, was seen wiping her tears bitterly.
The Speaker was joined by family, friends, and mourners who came out to say goodbye to Mama Anna Namanya Wetang'ula.
He posted an emotional message on social networks, saying that the family would always appreciate his mother's deep love.
He also thanked the time they participated with Mama Namama, and promised to be fond of his death.
