Nairobi – Activist Bob Njagi, one of three men kidnapped in Kitengela on August 19, 2024, has claimed that he saw him MCA of Wajir who disappeared Yussuf Hussein Ahmed was in custody.

How did Bob Njagi discover the disappearance of the MCA?

Njagi claimed that Ahmed, who was kidnapped on September 13, 2024, along the Enterprise Road in the Nairobi industrial area, was brought to a room near his prison.

“We can laugh about this issue sometime, but I want to say here that the MCA of Wajir County was in the closet near where I was. I had the opportunity to look at the keys and see him,” Njagi told Citizen TV on Wednesday, February 5.

Njagi revealed that he questioned the kidnappers when they brought a new prisoner at night – an unusual event. He recalled that it was September 13 and that he had been following the dates of the new kidnapping.

“That night I saw someone brought at midnight something unusual, the room he was sent was near mine,” He explained.

Njagi claimed that through his investigation, he discovered that the new captive had a Somali origin.

When he was released, he conducted his investigation and found that the kidnapping took place on Enterprise Road on the same date. He concluded that the man brought that night was the missing MCA of the Dela ward.

Although an investigation into Ahmed's disappearance is ongoing, with his family in doubt about his fate, Njagi insisted that when he and others left the block on September 20, the MCA was still alive.

“Without fear of confusion, I can say that when we left, he was there. Later, I heard a report that his body had been cut off and thrown to Wajir, ” He claimed.

One month after his disappearance, a body believed to be Ahmed was released from Lake Yahud.

Family and locals rushed to the mortuary to identify the remains, which had been abused and decayed. However, two independent DNA tests confirmed later that the body was not lost.

About five months later, the authorities continue to investigate his whereabouts as his family holds the hope of finding answers.

In a new situation, activist Bob Njagi and Longton's brothers have claimed that people believed to be security officials have been following them in black Subaru.

The three, in a statement to the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC), called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to intervene in their case, accusing the government of arranging kidnapping to silence critics.

Their statement demanded a thorough and neutral investigation into their misery, while calling on the authorities to ensure accountability for the parties.
