Noah Lyles embraces fashion as a new frontier for track and field, pushing the sport beyond its comfort zone.
Triple world champion Noah Lyles has opened up the dynamic nature of track and field when it comes to fashion.
Lyles revealed that fashion in track and field can expand to be at the forefront just like other sports stars from the NBA and other big sports.
The reigning Olympic 100m champion explained that athletes have to get out of their comfort zone and understand that in order to make the cut to the top categories when it comes to fashions, hard conversations need to be held.
Jamaican great Usain Bolt may have been used to winning on track but he has had to endure painful losses off it, going by the multi-million ventures that lost him big money.
Noah Lyles further noted that through fashion, they will be able to share other things including having conversations on how to push track and field to greater heights but as long as they remain laid back, the sport will not evolve.
“Track and field has so many personalities, especially when it comes to fashion. I believe our sport has just as much potential as any other sport, but to reach that bigger demographic, we have to thrust ourselves into conversations that we aren’t used to being in,” Noah Lyles said in an interview with Run.
“If we want to see new heights for our sport, we have to do new things. Fashion is a great gateway to share those personalities.”
He admitted that fashion icon Kwasi Kessie has helped build his confidence when it comes to learning more about what works for him and what doesn’t.
As he throws himself in the deep end, Noah Lyles reveals that Kessie has been very instrumental in coming up with looks that would complement him.
“Kwasi gives me the ability to learn. I love finding a new hobby and learning more about that hobby,” Lyles revealed.
Gout Gout has overcome identity challenges and personal struggles to break records but who are the people behind his success?
“If I have something I’m trying to create, but I don’t know where to source from or where to draw inspiration from, Kwasi can give me the guidance to find my way there.
“Sometimes you are putting your armour on for battle, and it might look different to Batman or Superman, but each piece makes you feel more confident as you get ready for big events and bigger days.”
Last season, Noah Lyles was able to explore his fashion side more as he made track appearances uniquely. After closing his season after the Paris Olympic Games Lyles, alongside his fiancée Junelle Bromfield, made a memorable appearance at Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Collection show.

This marked their debut on the New York Fashion Week runway, showcasing their versatility beyond athletics. Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield also graced the red carpet in Los Angeles, turning heads with their vintage-inspired outfits.
