‘It’s either all or nothing’- American sprint legend argues why Noah Lyles must prove himself indoors

The four-time world champion has given a candid explanation as to why Noah Lyles will have to show up and impress in his indoor races before proceeding to the outdoor schedule.

Following his season opener at the RADD Sports College Invitational and Multi-Event, the frequently asked question has been whether Noah Lyles will be competing at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.

The Olympic 100m champion has yet to confirm this but American sprint legend Justin Gatlin believes he will be competing at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, hoping to cement his legacy.

The 2004 Olympic 100m champion argues that Noah Lyles has a point to prove, and Christian Coleman and other 60m stars should be wary of what the triple world champion will be aiming to do at the indoor event.

Sha’Carri Richardson overcame the anger and struggles following her doping ban to reclaim her place as a world champion.

He insisted that Noah Lyles still has a point to prove despite having won the Olympic and world titles. Gatlin revealed that Lyles will be looking to leave a mark in each category and he has yet to conquer the indoor event.

Noah Lyles finished second behind Christian Coleman at the 2024 World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland and this season, he wants to go one place better.

“I think Noah might go…I think Noah is going to go. He is on the medal grab bro, that’s what he is doing. Everything he jumps into, he has to make sure he is the winner,” Gatlin said on the Ready Set Go podcast.

“He has to make sure he grabs that medal, he’s on a different path than a lot of people. He’s not trying to cement his legacy like you said it’s either all or nothing.

“You’re running to prepare for outdoors or getting a medal for Worlds. Whispers are that he would run the world indoors.”

Meanwhile, his podcast co-host Rodney Green insisted that Noah Lyles has managed to win all the races that matter and he might not show up for the indoor championship.

Usain Bolt: 3 multi-million investment ventures of Jamaican sprint legend that failed to take off

Jamaican great Usain Bolt may have been used to winning on track but he has had to endure painful losses off it, going by the multi-million ventures that lost him big money.

Instead, he believes Olympic 100m silver medallist Kishane Thompson will be in action at the global showpiece since he has a lot to prove.

“I don’t know if Noah will compete there, I think Kishane might go but I’m not sure. I don’t think he is going to go…for what? He doesn’t need to,” Rodney Green said.

Kishane Thompson has also begun his season, having clocked an impressive 6.48 seconds at the Central Hurdles Relays and Field Events before proceeding to the Astana Indoor Meet for Amin Tuyakov Prizes where he won the final in 6.58 seconds.
