The Brewers have received a big-money offer for the young striker who is reportedly eager to make the switch to North Africa.
Tusker FC could be about to lose striker Ryan Ogam who is wanted by Algerian club USM Alger.
Ogam has been a revelation this season after scoring 15 goals in 14 league matches so far to lead the scoring chart in the FKF Premier League and when Tusker were hoping that he could spur them to the title in the second half of the campaign, his future at the club is now in doubt.
According to sources who spoke to Pulse Sports, the striker has received a mouth-watering deal that he is considering with the Brewers also set to receive a big-money offer.
The former Nairobi City Stars player has reportedly finalized his big-money transfer to the Czech giants after days of speculation.
“I understand the club has received the offer, close to Ksh4 million, which they will likely accept. His parents are also receptive to the idea of moving to Algeria and this will likely accelerate his move,” a source told Pulse Sports.
“However, it looks like he is being pushed to move because he has been advised a number of times to wait until the end of the season and choose from a number of options, which will likely include clubs from Europe, but it appears he might end up in North Africa.”
The former Rainbow FC player is in his first season in the top flight and did not need time bedding in, scoring goals for fun, to lead Tusker to joint top of the FKF Premier League table, where they have 36 points, same as Kenya Police from 18 matches.
Benson Omala has seen his transfer to Lebanon hit a brick wall and having not played for half-a-season, what are his options now?
Ogam’s departure will be a blow for coach Charles Okere who has utilised him to good effect and comes weeks after the Brewers lost Shaphan Siwa, who joined Tanzanian side Kagera Sugar this month, after the expiry of his contract in December.
The two have been Tusker’s main men in the first half of the season, Ogam, bagging 15 goals, while Siwa had provided nine assists and scored one goal by the time he left.
It is the second time USM Alger are showing interest in a Kenyan striker in the midseason transfer window after they nearly signed Benson Omala from Gor Mahia in January 2024 before the move fell through at the last minute.
