Baby Pendo: Court orders the DPP to arrest a police officer linked to the murder of baby Kisumu

The Supreme Court has ordered the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga to search and arrest a retired police officer accused of being involved in the murder of baby Samantha Pendo within thirty days.

The officer, Mohammed Ba, is among the defendants of the brutal murder of Child Pendo and 39 colleagues after the 2017 general election.

Judge Margaret Muigai, in his decision, emphasized the need for accountability and seeking justice for the victims of post -election violence.

In a statement, Muigai claimed that if the police were unable to arrest him within the appointed time, the DPP should consider fixing the prosecution and continuing to sue the remaining 11 police officers accused of the same crime.

“I have found that the DPP needs enough time to find and arrest the suspect, who must face justice for the cruelty committed against humanity,” He said in the decision.
