The leader of the party of National Rainbow Coalition (Narc) Martha Karua has indicated that all presidential candidates for the next 2027 elections in Kenya will join in support of one candidate.

Karua said the decision would be needed with the ultimate goal of defeating the President William Ruto.
His statement was responding to a proposal by a social network user that every area in the country should appoint its presidential candidate to counter Ruto 2027.
Why does Martha Karua defend one candidate against Ruto?
Karua, in his response, said that the national unity precedes regional or personal political aspirations.

Karua, who has been a fierce critic of the Ruto government, has shown signs that he may be actively involved in the 2027 elections following his failure of the resolution ticket in 2022.
His call for unity is on the rise when political unions are stirring up, and opposition is looking for ways to strengthen the power against the Ruto regime, which has been criticized by economic policies and leadership issues.
Does Martha Karua form a Union with Gachagua?
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua He invented rumors of having a Union with Karua before the 2027 elections.
When he visited Karua Gichugu's home in Kirinyaga on Saturday, January 25, Gachagua said there was a need for leadership that concerns many Kenyans and expressed a desire to join the same people who have volunteered in the development of the country.

The former deputy president expressed satisfaction with the new political solidarity, seeing it as a move to strengthen leadership in Mount Kenya.
He noted that Karua's experience and commitment would be important in promoting local interests and promising to seek his advice on a regular basis, along with other leaders, to bring positive change.
Karua welcomed the alliance, describing it as a strong alliance that would push accountability into the administration. He called on other people with similar intentions to join their efforts to defend national reforms.
The meeting was the first major political partnership between Gachagua and Karua since the removal of the office as deputy president.
Karua to form a new party before 2027
The Gachagua-Karua negotiations also coincided with the ongoing reforms of NARC Kenya following the withdrawal from the resolution coalition.
Karua described plans to reform the party to a new, called People's Liberation Party, which will be launched in February.
He emphasized his readiness to cooperate with various political parties, including Gachagua, in an effort to oppose President William Ruto's administration.
